Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Program

Specialized nurses bring state of the art wound products together with up-to-date methods of treatment.

A wound care nurse works with a patient's homecare team to monitor a variety of wounds and the healing process.

Wound care services include:

  • Assessing, evaluating and identifying patients who are at risk or need treatment for: pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, burns, and other trama.
  • Consulting with the ordering doctor to select the right treatment for the patient.
  • Educating the patient and caregivers to prevent wounds.
  • Teaching patients and their caregivers to care for their wounds and how to change a dressing.

Wound care nurses visit patients' homes to monitor wounds closely. They make sure that patients are making positive improvements.
