Respiratory Therapist • Per Diem

Provides respiratory therapy treatment to patients at home as prescribed and directed by a physician. Responsible for the evaluation, planning, and provision of respiratory therapy treatment.

Graduate from an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy or a college graduation and completion of all requirements for a certificate in Respiratory Therapy.
•Licensed and certified by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
•Minimum of one year’s experience preferred.
•Current driver license, reliable vehicle, automobile insurance/registration.
•New York State Office of Children and Family Services State Central Register Database Check clearance.
•BLS preferred.

Completes an initial and periodic evaluation of the patient’s respiratory needs.
•Continuously collects data comprehensively, accurately and systematically.
•Analyzes the assessment data to develop an appropriate patient-centered plan of care.
•Individualizes the expected outcomes for each patient based on the clinical data and develops short and long term goals.
•Evaluates the effect of the interventions and progress toward the expected outcomes and follows-up and revises the plan of care.
•Provides instruction and ongoing evaluation to patients, families, care givers, and home health aides in patient care activities involving respiratory therapy regimens.
