Information on how to help the flood victims

Updated information on how you can help our Brothers and Sisters in Montgomery County. If you would like to donate, please call CHC at 762-8215 and we will bring the items up to Fort Plain for you.
Below is updated information on how volunteers can help, and also where residents who were affected by the flood can go for help, as well as contact info for community agencies assisting with cleanup efforts. 

How Can I Help?

To volunteer…
Volunteers are being coordinated by the Reformed Church. Volunteers should report to the Church ready to work and will be sent out in teams to complete various cleanup tasks. Additionally, Habitat for Humanity has organized a volunteer day on Wednesday, July 3rd. Volunteers should meet at the Reformed Church at 9am. 

To donate non-perishable food items…
Fulmont Community Action Agency has been designated as a relief agency to assist with recovery efforts in Fort Plain. Monetary donations to help families affected by the flooding can be sent to the agency. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off. 

To donate cleaning supplies…
The Methodist Church has been designated as the drop off site for cleaning supplies. Buckets, mops, garbage bags, etc.

To donate clothing and personal items…
The Valley Alliance Church is accepting donations of clothing, personal hygiene items, diapers, etc. 

To donate money…
Fulmont Community Action is accepting monetary donations. Additionally, United Way has a donation text number dedicated to providing relief money to flood victims in the Mohawk Valley. Text UNITED to 52000.
