PERTH - The 10th annual Nurses Recognition Celebration was held May 9 at the Perthshire. It is hosted by Community Health Center, the home health care agency that sends professional nurses and other clinical staff members to the homes of Fulton and Montgomery residents to deliver health care.
Nurses and nursing students were honored with an evening of socializing, entertainment, prizes and recognition, a news release said.
This year, CHC named St. Mary's Healthcare, Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home, "MedRock," and John Hyde of Prime Care, as "Centers of Excellence." CHC recognized these agencies for their continuous "Champion of Nursing" sponsorship for 10 years, the release said.
CHC also was honored by state Sen. Cecilia Tkaczyk and Rep. Julia Caro for recognizing the importance of nurses. They also honored CHC with a proclamation of recognition and excellence.
The event was paid for by local business sponsorships. Top-level financial sponsors included: Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home of Gloversville; St. Mary's Hospital of Amsterdam; and John Hyde of Prime Care Medical Equipment, Albany. The second-level sponsor was Rose and Kiernan of Albany. Third-level sponsors were Liberty, Amsterdam Rotary, Fulmont Community Action Agency, Seely Conover, Palmers Pharmacy and Ephratah Rod and Gun Club. Several businesses donated raffle prizes and in-kind services for the event as well.
